Subtle vital energies move through unseen channels inside your body from one inner island to the next. Much like the blood in your veins nourishing your vital organs, the energy in these streams feeds you for a more subtle awakening and transformation.
Essentials
Following the Wheel of the Year through the 6 weeks of Yuletide (December 21-February 1), you go deeper into the energy of the Winter season and your inner terrain.
The symbolism can be applied in many contexts, yet intellectual understanding of the symbols does not guarantee you will actually arrive in the winter of our cycle—its state of being and benefits lie in potential.
Winter is quiet self-observation—breathing, feeling, noticing and allowing.
Winter is the space between inhalation and exhalation—suspension and retention of the breath.
Winter is restful integration—Savasana.
Winter is Samadhi—true union.
Getting There
These four elements help to invoke the potential for fully embracing the season and arriving in the earthen cave of winter—its quiet, inward, restorative, integrative energies. Like the end of a yoga class, you lie in an open restful posture, awake and not doing—simply aware.
In the winter, you become aware of your awareness—the connection to earth and cosmos, disengaged from the sensations of the body, yet woven fully into its fabric.
Awareness
Breathe and become aware of what has come to pass, and where you are in this very moment. Allow your willfulness to step aside and become willing.
The Tone
Listen for your inner voice in the silence, setting the tone for self-observation.
Practice
Viewing from your knowingness, you are unruffled by your body’s responses—its sensations, emotions and thoughts. You practice allowance—the breath connecting you to all you are and every experience.
Embodiment
In a relaxed body and quiet mind, you experience only the breath—that inextricable link to the physical, the soul and the spirit that is you.
Scouring Breath
Envision the glacier moving mountains, slowing creating valleys, lakes and streams. Now use your breath to move the mountains within. Watch the calcification of the past dissolving and releasing back to source.
Each week you will find symbolism and relaxing practices following the Wheel of the Year, the Sacred Body Oracle cards and the calendar journal, “Sacred Body Pathworking: Mapping the Evolutionary Journey.”
The calendar journal and its companion, “Relax your Body, Quiet your Mind,” are both available for purchase here--please scroll down to the bottom of the linked page. “Sacred Body Pathworking” includes a complimentary 72-card, Sacred Body Oracle deck—when ordered by December 31, 2024.
Weekly Relax your Body, Quiet your Mind audios accompany your pathworking journey around the Wheel of the Year.
